City of London Freemen's School Entrepreneur Talk

What it's like being an Entrepreneur

Today Adam Gardner, Director at Redder Ltd, talked to around 120 business studies students from the City of London Freemen's School about what it's like being an entrepreneur and how to become an entrepreneur.

The motivational talk was designed to give the students an idea of what's involved in starting your own business. The topics covered included:

  • How you came up with your business idea (opportunities and why)
  • Have you expanded your business at any point and why
  • How you set up your business
  • Problems with and benefits of running your own business
  • Networking, communication and other skills
  • What you would have done differently
  • Top Ten tips on setting up your own business

Louisa Burningham, Assistant Head of Sixth Form, said afterwards, 'Thank you so much for this morning's excellent and inspirational talk! Several students have approached me over the last hour or so saying how much they enjoyed it and how they would be keen to start their own businesses.

Hopefully - inspired by your words - they'll develop the necessary dynamism to go for what they want over the coming years!'
